The Centrist Democrat International
(IDC-CDI)
Is the largest international political organization bringing together center and center-right parties, united by their commitment to promoting and defending democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. Founded in 1960 and renewed in its legal and statutory framework in 2021, the IDC-CDI has established itself as a significant actor on the international stage, providing a unified and firm response to radical populism, authoritarian leftist forces, terrorism, attempted coups d’état, and external threats to democratic institutions. In addition, it promotes peace, stability, humanitarian aid, and sustainable development; supports its member parties in strengthening their internal structures; and works actively to defend democratic systems

- To promote and strengthen liberal democracy, political pluralism, and citizen participation through free, fair, and transparent electoral processes.
- To guarantee the separation of powers, respect for the rule of law, and the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
- To reject and oppose all forms of authoritarianism, corruption, and violence, reaffirming a commitment to free and just societies.
- To foster cooperation and unity among its members, recognizing and valuing cultural, regional, and historical diversity as a source of enrichment.
- To apply the principles of integral humanism and the historical values of Christianity as guiding references to confront the political, social, and ethical challenges of the contemporary world.
