The CDI mourns the passing away of Prince Norodom Ranariddh, the second son of the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk and former First Prime Minister of Cambodia, who has passed away in France at the age of 77.

Prince Ranariddh was the President of the royalist FUNCINPEC party and served as the first Prime Minister of Cambodia (1993-1998) following the elections organised in 1993 by the UN Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC). He also served as the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia (1998-2006).

The CDI wishes to extend its condolences for his loss to his family, the members of the FUNCINPEC party and the Cambodian people.
