Executive Committee meeting at the European Parliament
During the meeting a lively debate was held on important issues the Organization faces, as well as topics of international political interest, which, in some cases, affected some of the countries present. The Armenia Republican Party, until now an observing member, was accepted as a full member, while the Heritage Party of Armenia was accepted as an observing member. A short session was held on the upcoming elections to the European Parliament, in which different perspectives were presented, along with assessment of possible alternatives, and a broad presentation on the different points of view that may be present in the next elections, to be held from May 23 to May 26, in the different member countries of the European Union. The Executive Committee unanimously decided to endorse the IDC-CDI’s adherence to the Paris Call organisation on Cyber-security, a topic of great relevance today, and no doubt in the future, for all users of new technologies. Eleven resolutions were approved, which you can view in our document section, of great interest and involving countries such as Bangladesh, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Mozambique, Indonesia, Central Europe, etc. There were two different proposals to celebrate the next Executive Committee and the General Assembly, with the city of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, being confirmed as the site.
