On 9 and 10 July we held the Leaders Meeting in Mexico, as well as this year’s second Executive Committee Meeting.
It was an important event, with participation by 56 parties from all the regions where we are present, now encompassing almost every corner of the world. On the afternoon of Friday the 10th the “IDC-CDI and the World’s New Challenges” forum was held, featuring as speakers the presidents of the regional organizations and the Secretary-General of the EPP (European Popular Party), Antonio López-Isturiz; the outgoing president of the IDC, Pier Ferdinando Casini; and the president-elect, former Colombian President Andres Pastrana.
During this Leaders Meeting a vote was held for both the new president and the 15 vice-presidents to form the Executive Committee that will oversee the IDC-CDI in the coming year, who were chosen unanimously.
